Response to Scientist Confirm Global Warming at North and South Poles

I found this article very helpful. It showed me new reasons for global warming, and what is going on about it. I never thought that people could be the reason for global warming in the arctic. I thought it would be to remote for people to do damage there. But they now have prof that we are also causing global warming there too. I learned that they are making new devices to see how it is happening, and why. Which I thought was really cool and a good thing they are doing that so we can find a way to get global warming under control, or even stop it. It changed my thinking to why global warming was happening in the arctic. I'm sure it's more than just human causing it, but now I know that's one reason why there is global warming there, why ice caps are melting. I'm not sure if it leads to new questions, I do wounder if there is a way to have human who live near there to lessen they harmful gasses they are putting in the atmosphere. But I'm not sure if even that would help because in the article it mention someone saying how they think the melting is still going to get worse, even if we stopped putting harmful things in the atmosphere. Probably the next article I will look for is one explaining more about the rise of sea levels.

Scientists Confirm Global Warming at North and South Poles

This article talks about how scientists have come up with a climate model, that says humans are responsible for global warming happening in the North Pole, and the South Pole as well. Carbon emissions from humans is also causing global warming in the arctic, but that is only some of it. They are not entirely sure of why global warming is in the arctic, since it is so remote. There are different ideas of why. Some experts belivie it is due to the greenhouse gasses. Others belivie trghe reson for these changes is because of the natural fluctuations in the climate. But in a recent issue of Nature Geoscience, there is an international team os scientists reports of a new model that proves humans are responsible for global warming in the arctic. The model has 100 years worth of temperature data and 50 years of recored temperatures in the Antartic. The temperatures were from the coastal areas, acording to scientists it is too difficult to get into the interior. When all the data was put together it showed how much humans had a part in global warming, in the South Pole.
Andrew Monaghan is with US National Center for Atmosphere Research in Boulder, Colorado. He wrote the News and Views article in Nature saying,
"That's why this study is so important because it formally demonstrates the human contribution to [global warming] for the first time,"
In a teleconference with reporters, Monaghan said warming has been notited along half of Antartica's frozen coastlines that will soon lead to a greater rise in sea levels.
Monaghan belivies that in the next century, they will be a great rise in ice mealting, even after humans stop putting harmful gases into the atmosphere.
